Coalescing Mathematics and Computer Science will become a harbinger of a revolution based on which the empirical data is bound to be drafted. As an economics student, I am bent towards quantitative analysis of the various economic phenomena that will metamorphose into a relevant and useful theory to help others in their research, related to economic theories. Owing to my interest in all these fields, I have decided to pursue a Master in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. Approaching the completion of my under graduation in Economics honors, I am now equipped to pursue a further degree that will accentuate my skills in creating a statistical model that will serve as a useful information for the economy. As a student with an extensive travel experience in all four directions in India, I have observed a disparaged attitude for the underprivileged section of society. I have decided to eliminate not only this thought process but also poverty that sparks this impression.   

To come to this strong thought-provoking decision where I have decided to pursue a quantitative field blended with management, numerous internships and work experiences along with the theoretical knowledge attained through the UG course has been a foothold.  Moreover, Math and Computer science (C++ language) have always been cardinal. Consequentially, I scored 95% in Mathematics and 93% in Computer Science. Currently, I am pursuing BSc. Economics from the Indian School of Business and Finance which is academically directed by the London School of Economics and is an Affiliate center of the University of London. 

In the under graduation course, I have acquired many feats that have encouraged me to pursue an MS in this aforementioned field. The letter of commendation from the University of London and London School of Economics is one such enthralling encouragement. The abridged course of Business Analytics using the R language has become a strong base for my MS. Subjects like Statistics and Mathematics programming languages- C++ and R and subjects like Microeconomics are prerequisites that will be an addendum to my knowledge base. I am delighted that through these I have perceived ways to deal with smaller issues within an economy especially mathematically. Through Macroeconomics, I have dealt with bigger issues and learned the empirical issues through Econometrics. Fortunately, I studied Psychology, as itthat aided me in understanding people better, moreover is a key aspect of life that gives a clear understanding of people.  

Where these subjects bestowed me the rudimentary concepts, the research on Statistics 1 proved to be the largest tenet providing me yet another credible platform to participate in competition further. At the moment, I am engaged in working on a capstone project on the subjects of Mathematical economics, Monetary Economics, and International Economics. These are all-encompassing and together will enrich me with more know-how of the various facets of economics.  

Subsequently, I worked as an intern at Jalan Distributors and Co. as a Business Analyst for a month. As an intern, I researched the potential business partners and communicated with them to come to a closure. Having closed a few deals, I was happy and appreciated the same. I also handled the company’s social media accounts including Instagram, Linkedin, and Facebook, and designed all the content that was posted on behalf of the organization. It was indeed a rewarding feeling when I could successfully present the multiple businesses online along with handling the back-end work. 

As I have already studied some of the base core subjects I now wish to get an in-depth knowledge of Micro-and Macro Economics. Not only theoretically, but the MS program will also give me more application-based learning that will pave a concrete path for my goals. After having attained relevant knowledge and experience through the MS course, I see myself submersed in researching and the doctorate program will be my outlook. With the degree of time, I am certain to have acquired acumen that will hold me in good stead as a specialized professional, working in the consulting sector. The course gave me in-depth knowledge of the economy and an experience that sets me apart from the rest of the crowd. The psychology I studied coming into work along with my communication skills will allow me to consummate my consultant role. 

Besides the interest I have in academics, I also enjoy Dancing. I have learned Bharatnatyam for 9 years and feel that this learning has given me the required discipline. I am inclined to nurture this by joining the cultural committee at LSE and learning about other cultures too. Simultaneously, it will be a privilege to choreograph a few songs at the University. As an enthusiastic student, I have also headed a few events at the college. I have been the Vice-President of Blaize, the Dancing Society, Vice-President of the Events Society, and under the umbrella of which I have administered 18 events and also established ‘i-KBC’, the college’s most unique and successful quiz. Along with this an upgraded experience as a President of the Events Society has been bounteous in providing confidence to supervise, handle and manage various events at the college. Through this, I also learned about collaboration and its importance. 

Acquiring vast experience as a student and as an intern, I have converged to a point where I feel empirical knowledge and pragmatic know-how are essential. MS in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics will be an extension of my interest in statistics, Math, and Computers. The esteemed professors and the comprehensive curriculum are quintessential to accentuate my knowledge. The subjects like International Economics, Monetary Economics, Corporate Finance, Asset Markets, Portfolio Management, and Stochastic Processes will give me an enlarged view. The world-renowned University at the economical hub of the world, the UK, will be an asset for me. The distinguished course and the University excites me and I am eager to see what it has in store for me. 

At this intersection, I am happy to have made this decision. I am now looking forward to excelling in the subject where the University will be a propeller. It is an assiduous desire to be a part of your reputed University and conduct various researches to include empirical learning that will become a base for all other contemporary methodologies. To become a part of the cohort at your University will be a great privilege and I look forward to being a part of the intellectual milieu.
