Respected Sir/ Madam,
I, Manish Yadav thank you for permitting me to share my interest in pursuing an Associate of Arts Degree In psychology from Capilano University in Canada. Being a passionate psychology student, I approached the university with a written proposal. University has equally boosted my morale by offering me a Letter of Acceptance for the <month> intake. I am, therefore, writing this application to you for seeking a study visa so that I can embark upon a journey to higher studies. I hope I would be able to convince you of my sincere desire to study in Canada without deviating from my motive.
Academic and professional background
As I am a part of a well-educated family, I have a lot of inspiration in the form of my parents, cousins, uncles, and aunts to do well in my academics. Having seen everyone in my extended family doing good in their respective lives and careers, I was intrinsically motivated to outperform in my studies. As a result, I passed my secondary school in 2017 with a total pass percentage of <add figure>% and completed my senior secondary school in 2019 with <add figure>%. After passing out of school, I knew what I wanted to pursue further due to my inclination toward psychology and human behavior. Therefore, I gathered all the information about undergraduate courses available indigenously and compared the same with the benefits of studying abroad. Unfortunately, a single indigenous course did not meet my study goals. I further weighed down the benefits of studying in Canada and eventually landed the chosen course at Capilano University. Unfortunately, at that time (during 2019), a sudden pandemic emergency was announced due to the Coronavirus which delayed my plans for further education. However, I did not step back and began preparing for the IELTS examination. Now when things have started to settle on a worldwide scale and international flights have opened, I find it the best time to seek visa approval.
Why Canada?
My dedicated research about the scope of studying in Canada has made me aware of the multitude of benefits that I can derive from studying here. Canada is a multicultural destination that provides qualitative education which remains heightened throughout the globe. Such is the pedagogy being followed in the Canadian education system. I feel utterly delighted to get an opportunity for pursuing higher studies in a country that is deemed peaceful while being largely inhibited by the multicultural population. Throughout my stay, I am sure to derive a lot of experiences that will evolve me as an individual. By being a part of the Canadian education culture, I will also enjoy rights equal to its citizens which makes Canada a worthy destination for me to pursue my higher education goals there.
Why not India: The course that I have chosen to pursue in Canada offers a vast curriculum while in India such courses lack practical training. Moreover, our study system is also not practically strong as the teaching pedagogy is more theoretical. As the Indian lifestyle is evolving, its psychological needs are evolving too. It certainly requires me to understand psychology from a global perspective so that I can resolve modern psychology issues more effectively. I cannot gain international exposure by studying in India. However, after acquiring an international accreditation, my chances of employment will multiply in India. Due to comprehensive curriculums, Canadian education is deemed worthy among Indian employers. This makes me choose Canada over my country of residence.
Why Study Psychology at Capilano University?
Capilano University has been educating students around the globe for over 30 years. Students from all around the world can earn associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and graduate degrees at this university. It is open for all and provides a multicultural study environment to thrive. It is one of the renowned public universities with a teaching focus. Capilano University offers a safe, secure, comfortable, and excellent academic environment. Additionally, the university offers many employment-oriented programs that benefit several students. At regular intervals, the university reviews its programs so that students learn the latest skills and techniques needed for professional success. I am choosing to study this program at this university to gain a deeper understanding of how we develop and learn, how our social roles and culture impact us, and how stress impacts our mental health. According to the curriculum offer, I will study topics in Research Methods in Psychology, Statistical Methods in Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Lifespan Development, etc. I am certain that my exposure in this program will allow me to take up professional roles back home by making me industry-ready.
Reasons to return to India:
Family Ties
My family comprises my widowed mother. She has always been a source of strength for me. She works as a <add designation>. Since my father’s demise, I and my mother have lived together and she has nurtured me to become a well-mannered person. It is due to her encouragement that I am looking forward to gaining higher education in Canada. She is my closest tie in India. Therefore, I aim to return home soon after completing my course in Canada. She is fit and fine and physically active to take care of herself while I am away. Also, we have our extended family living in the same town to extend support whenever my mother requires it. However, she is my responsibility and I will return for her. No matter what, I will act as a pillar of strength and support for her and do everything to give her a comfortable life. Also, we have numerous properties to which I am the sole heir. My mother wants to pass on the family heritage to me as she gets older. I will, therefore, return to my homeland to fulfill my mother’s wishes and take charge of my responsibilities towards my family. As I am the only child, not have any family ties in Canada, I will not extend my stay period beyond authorization.
Future Goals
Through my study program in psychology, I intend to become a renowned psychologist and take considerable experience in this arena by serving in the departments of Clinical, Counselling, Industrial Counselling, Educational (school), and Forensic Psychology which is prominent in India. However, in the long run, I wish to become a Legal psychologist or a Criminal psychologist to help make decisions on offenders by evaluating their probable harm to society. Through this, I want to help law enforcement to resolve crime rates. Eventually, to fulfill this dream, I will combine my existing knowledge with a Post graduate degree in Criminal Psychology. It will help me fulfill my lifelong dream of serving organizations such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Ability to fund education
My family has enough funds to support my future endeavors. We possess sufficiently available funds in the family along with voluminous immovable property. Therefore, my mother has agreed to sponsor my education and stay. I have also paid a tuition fee of CAD 20,346 and deposited CAD 10,000 into the GIC account. Please find a proof of payment enclosed for your kind perusal. My mother has also assured me to support me in case of any additional expenses that I might incur during my stay in Canada.
Language proficiency
I have taken the IELTS test and have scored an overall band of 7.0 (Listening: 7.5, Reading:6.5, Writing: 6.5, Speaking: 7.5). Please find enclosed the IELTS scorecard attached herewith.
Conclusion
I am a law-abiding student who sincerely wishes to study in Canada and raise his career graph back home. I do not have any intention to extend my stay in Canada, considering my plans in India. Therefore, I will make the most utilization of my time throughout my stay in Canada and represent my strongest cultural values to develop lifetime connections and networks. I will forever be indebted to this nation for allowing me to pursue higher studies and precisely shaping my career I have always wanted. I will be highly grateful to you if you allow me a student permit based on my candidacy as a genuine temporary entrant.
