Sub: Application requesting a study permit

Respected Sir/ Madam,

I, Arjun Reddy, express my sincere gratitude to you for allowing me to share my intent to visit Canada. I already possess decent business exposure in the Supply Chain Industry and have proved my potential for impeccable business management skills many times in my past organization. I have unfortunately found my career stagnated after giving over a decade to my respectable profession. Hence, to realize my full potential in handling business procedures in a managerial position, I aim to acquire formal training in MBA from University Canada West. As I have also received a Letter of Acceptance for the fall intake from UCW, I am ardent to prove my candidacy as a genuine temporary entrant.

Academic and professional background

I completed my secondary and senior secondary school in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Having a keen inclination toward understanding business, commerce, and financial management, I pursued a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai after passing out of school. My intricate learnings in business economics and management developed a keen outlook in me to perform well in my career. I completed my undergraduate studies in 2012 in the first division. Having been introduced to logistics and supply chain management as a part of my undergraduate studies, I received an opportunity to work as a Supply Chain Executive at Shankar Trading Company in Dubai, UAE which seemed lucrative to me as a fresher and a simple undergraduate. Hence, I joined the company in February 2012 and stayed in the company for good four years before leaving it in January 2016 for further enhancement of my understanding of this industry. Hence, I joined Armada Distribution in February as a Supply Chian Supervisor. Since then, I have been working here fulfilling all major responsibilities associated with my role as a supervisor. Over time, I have gained an unbeatable exposure in product demand planning, supervising procurement, designing the operations, designing and implementing the logistics policies and procedures, conducting regular meetings, setting KPIs and reporting systems, coaching, motivating, and accessing SC/CS teams, update master data, develop and improve the performance of department staff, hire, evaluate, promote and recommend salary increase, etc. Unfortunately, my performance and dedication could not help me get a promotion to a level up in my career due to having limited qualifications up to a graduate level. It has been a lot of time in my career that I have failed to get even a nomination for a deserving position while my colleagues got promoted who joined the organization after me but had MBA as a higher qualification. Also, their approach to handling teams differed from mine and eventually, they turned out to be more impressive and eligible for internal promotions. Now, after spending ten years in this industry, I believe it’s not too late yet to equip myself with a formal MBA degree. I have therefore chosen to pursue full-fledged formal training from Canada to also reap international exposure.

Why Canada?

Canada is the most befitting example of an advanced study destination. It equips an advanced infrastructure that supports research-based learning and industry-intensive training. Canada is also a perfect example of peace, harmony, and multicultural co-existence. Canada follows pedagogy as advanced as the other English-speaking countries like the USA, UK, or Australia which gives me a lot of confidence in applying for further studies in such a country. Canada has a low crime rate which makes it the safest choice for any international student Canada’s healthcare facility for its international students is unmatched and equally given to them as it I offered to its citizens. By studying in Canada, I can be assured of getting industry exposure due to the applied learning approach which is neither found in my country of residence nor Dubai.

Why not India/Dubai: Studying in Canada will help me garner international exposure which is limited to studying in India or Dubai. In both countries, a traditional approach to academic delivery is followed while after spending a decade in my career, this is not what I want. Rather, I want to study in a practically enriching environment that is available in Canada. After acquiring international training and globally accredited qualification, I am sure to get a competitive edge in my country of residence or even in Dubai where I am currently employed. This degree from UCW will give me much-deserved attention in the eye of the employers back home.

Why Business Administration from University Canada West?

In addition to improving my personality according to the needs of the current industry, studying at the University of Canada West will allow me to thrive in a multicultural environment. A curriculum as comprehensive as the one offered at University Canada West cannot be found in my country or at any other Canadian college, which is why I chose to study here. There is a unique platform offered by the University of Canada West, which enables students to access a variety of business lectures, study materials, library resources, seminars, or workshops through digital means. Consequently, I will be able to study at my own pace at UCW. I am also intrigued by the range of topics the courses offer, such as Entrepreneurship, Managerial Accounting, Talent Management, Business Analytics, Financial Management, Marketing, Human Resources, and Digital Marketing. As a result of this program, I believe I will lay the groundwork for my entrepreneurial career at home.

Reasons to Return to India

Family Ties

I belong to a family of six members in India which besides me includes my wife, mother, two sisters, and one brother. My mother is a homemaker, my wife is employed as a Personal Secretary in Dubai (UAE), one of my brothers is also well placed in Dubai working as a Logistics Manager while the other one works as a Customer Service Advisor in Tech Mahindra, in India. My sisters are happily married and live with their respective in-laws and families. Unfortunately, my father is no more with us. He ran a successful transport business and has left enormous assets for us to relish. Due to having my mother as my closest tie in India, I am bound to settle back permanently in my native land, along with my wife. As a couple, we also want to raise our children in our homeland, near their grandmothers and uncles, and aunts. Hence, after the completion of my studies and gaining relevant exposure, I will return home to serve in my home country while I will also be joined by my wife later on. Not having any family ties in Canada will also back my reasons to return home. I do not have any intention to overstay in the country due to being a family man who will have a family waiting to see him eagerly.

Future Goals

As I complete my MBA degree from the reputed University Canada West, my short-term goal is focused on securing a managerial position in reputed MNCs operating in India. These include Nestle, Unilever, Danone, Amazon, etc. Combining my work exposure and skills, I am hopeful to lock a remuneration up to CAD 24750 to 41250 which will be more than sufficient to fulfill my responsibilities and long-term goals. Eventually, I will enter into a business leveraging the Government of India’s Make in India initiative. With my impeccable industry knowledge and a stronghold on managing operations, I will certainly get an edge as I combine my newly acquired skills in business management to scale up my future business in India.

Financial establishment and bility to fund the education

I belong to a well-established family in India that possess sufficient wealth to support its living and is not dependent on me for any financial requirement. I also have a property of CAD 208,896 which earns us a decent rental income. Moreover, I have savings up to CAD<add figure> which backs my financial strength. Please find enclosed my financial details along with property-related documents attached herewith. Due to having worked in a prosperous professional setting, I have been able to save enough funds to sponsor my education and stay. Hence, my study in Canada will be entirely self-funded. I have also paid a tuition fee of CAD 7,900 and deposited CAD 10,000 into the GIC account. Please find proof of payment enclosed herewith. I also possess sufficient savings to support myself in case of additional expenses during my stay in Canada. Also, my family is financially stable enough to help me if required at any time.

Language Proficiency

I have passed my IELTS exam with an overall score of s 6.5 with no band less than 6 (Listening 7, Speaking 6.5, Writing 6.5, and Reading 6).  My scorecard has been attached herewith for your kind perusal.

Travel history

I have been employed in Dubai for over a decade. Hence, I have travelled between India and Dubai many times but I made sure I adhere to immigration laws all the time and return to my destination in the stipulated period. I have also traveled to Lebanon once for Supply Chain training in <add month, year>. From there too, I returned peacefully after the completion of my training. I do not possess any history of visa refusal or corrupt past records.

Conclusion

I respect the laws of my country as a law-abiding citizen. As a result, I have become familiar with Canadian immigration laws. These laws will always govern my actions. My pledge is not to cause any threat to the country or its people. I will focus on gaining higher education and adding to the country’s rich diversity. In light of this, I request you to issue me a student permit, since my real purpose for visiting Canada is to study.

Yours Sincerely,

Arjun Reddy
