Dear Sir/Madam,
I, Aryan Khanna, Thank you for giving me a chance to share my desire to visit Canada. I am an experienced hospitality professional who has severed in great capacities at reputed hospitality giants. However, at this point in my career, I require a level-up in my existing profile which can only come through the means of acquiring a much-needed academic upgrade. I have, therefore, thoughtfully proceeded to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Management program at Sault College. As I have also received a Letter of Acceptance for the September 2022, I seeking a visa grant from you.
Academic and professional background
I passed my high school in 2011 with an overall percentage of 74% while my senior secondary school was completed in 2013 obtaining an aggregate percentage of 71%. My inclination toward the hospitality industry made me opt to study B.Sc. in Catering Science and Hotel Management from Bhartihar University. Also, I pursued a three-year Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Administration from the International Institute of Hotel Management. I completed my course(s) in 2016. My excellent skills and presentation during my graduate years helped me secure a training opportunity at Vivant-A By Taj from November 2014 to May 2015. Post this, I pursued an internship at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Centre Nashville as Cook-2. I interned here from November 2016 to November 2017 Post this, I worked at The Red Pepper Restaurant as Commi-1. I served my tenure from January 2018 to December 2019. From February 2020 till February 2022, I worked at Arnies Sliders (American Restaurant) as Commi-1. My entire professional trajectory details my vast exposure to the hospitality industry which I earnestly cherish. I have learned a lot throughout my tenure, yet a desire to rise above the current level remains intact. After putting in several years, I find my potential limited to secure managerial roles. Hence, I am determined to go back to school and develop exclusive expertise so that I can lead the world of hospitality and tourism with my experience and exposure.
Why Hospitality and Tourism Management at Sault College?
Having already served in the hospitality industry for a long time, I have developed a deep desire to excel and rise high in my professional career. Hence, my search for a robust curriculum in hospitality and tourism management ended at Sault College which has an extensive course offering. I found the course curriculum to exactly match my study goals. I became intrigued by the inclusion of various topics of my choice that I did not want to cross-check any other course further. The topics in Ethics, Social Responsibility and Sustainable Tourism, e-Business and Technology Systems for the H & T Industry, Food and Wine Pairing, Operations Finance and Revenue Management in H & T, Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Management and Leadership fascinated me the most. I am especially drawn by the course in Food and Wine Pairing, especially coming from a kitchen background. I will thoroughly enjoy my study time at Sault College which is one of the best colleges in Canada. I am excited to begin my studies here considering it the most unbiased college due to its diverse group of students. Also, its faculty belongs to varied ethnicities which represent the college’s vast cultural values. I will also be able to understand hospitality and tourism from a global perspective by studying at such an amazing college. Also, the inclusion of the Capstone project drives me towards pursuing my further studies at Sault College. Through this, I will gain a thorough practical exposure and a complete overhaul of my conceptual learning. I am truly excited to begin my course in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Why Canada?
Canada is a beautiful country with amazing standards and excellent quality of life. Considering its education system, it is the most popular destination among foreign students due to its affordable and heartwarming. With its culturally advanced population, it is needless to say Canada remains the most peaceful country in the world. The open learning environment in Canada is an add-on to my learning exposure. I would certainly benefit from Canada’s great internship opportunities. I will learn and grow among the most versatile crowd and garner exclusive international exposure. Moreover, its education is at par with other English-speaking countries like the USA, UK, or Australia. I am thrilled to begin my studies here.
Why not India: The program chosen by me is not available in my country with as many benefits as in Canada. Studying indigenously will neither give me international exposure nor will I have an opportunity to experience education as delivered in advanced nations. By studying in Canada, I will receive both as well as guaranteed global accreditations which are widely acclaimed in my country of residence. Comparing the tuition fee of to-rated Indian colleges with Canadian colleges gives me a clear view of the perks of studying in Canada which is certainly the most affordable country. Also studying in Canada will open doors to applied learning while the same is not available with similar zest in my country. I am thus, convinced that studying in Canada will be far more beneficial than studying in India.
Reasons to return to India
Family Ties
My family is the strongest tie in my country that including my father, mother, and brother. My father serves in a senior position in a private school and my mother is a senior Hindi Teacher. My brother is working as a digital marketing executive in a private company. Throughout my life, my family has played an integral role. They have always supported me, no matter what. I carry such a special bond with all of them that I cannot stay away from them forever. Hence, I have planned to return home after completing my study program in Canada. I carry a special responsibility to take care of my aging parents. Since we are a small family, our assets will be shared equally by my brother and me. As a result, I also need to attend the very riches that my parents will bestow me with in the future years. I want to utilize every opportunity to be near my parents and brother. They are the source of my happiness. Unfortunately, they will not be available in Canada, and I do possess any family ties there. Hence, I plan to return within the authorized stay to meet my family and grow under the blessings and guidance of my revered parents.
Future plans
In the short run, I wish to fulfill my higher study aspiration to further seek career growth in my country. To fulfill this desire, I will study hard and make the most out of the opportunity to study abroad. I will pass my course with distinction so that I can reap the best exposure and become a well-rounded professional upon completion of my study program in Canada. After passing out of my college, I will return to my country and leverage my international exposure and foreign education in creating a competitive advantage for myself. As a probable outcome of this course, I am sure to advance in my profession becoming eligible to place myself in positions such as Food and Beverage Manager, Hotel Manager, Resort Manager, Kitchen Head, etc. I will focus to associate myself with top hospitality names in India which include Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, Hilton, Carlson, and Milton. In the longer run, I will integrate my professional learnings into establishing an independent infusion cuisine restaurant in my country. I will utilize my learnings to manage manpower, reduce costs, and generate maximum revenue.
Financial ability to fund education
My family is financially wealthy and so my parents have expressed their willingness to sponsor my education and living expenses in Canada. My father and mother withdraw a total annual salary of CAD<ad figure> and AD <add figure> respectively. I am thus convinced that I can seek support in case of additional expenses during my stay in Canada.
Considering our financial backing, I have also paid a tuition fee of 17,634 CAD for Hospitality and Tourism Management at Sault College and deposited 10,000 CAD into the GIC account. With this, I am confident that I make an eligible student to secure admission in my chosen course.
Language proficiency
I have studied from English medium background and have imbibed a fair hold on English. To fulfill the language criteria, I have also taken the IELTS test and passed it with an overall score of 6.5 without having any band less than 6.0 (Listening – 7.0, Reading – 6.0, Writing – 6.0, Speaking – 6.0). Please find my IELTS transcript enclosed herewith for your kind consideration.
Travel History
In the past, I have traveled to the USA due to Internship purposes and Saudi Arabia for work purpose. I returned to my homeland within the stipulated time. I did not exceed my stay in any of the country beyond the authorized stay and acted as per the law. Hence, I am determined to exhibit amicable behavior in Canada as I have represented myself in the other two nations.
Conclusion
In my pursuit to study in Canada, I have also familiarized myself with the Canadian Immigration Laws. I will abide by all the rules and regulations throughout my stay in Canada. I will never deter from my objective of gaining higher education in Canada and act obediently as expected from an immigrant student. In all circumstances, I will keep the country’s law and order as a priority and I will return peacefully within the stipulated authorized stay.
Yours Sincerely,
Aryan Khanna
