Dear Sir/Madam, 

I, Aakash Sharma, express my sincere gratitude to you for allowing me to present my application for a student visa. Through this application, I aim to reinstate my purpose of visit to Canada for further studies. I always had a knack for the film and media industry. Hence, I decided earlier in school to pursue a related course. However, in a hurry to reserve admission and being a little naïve, I wrongly selected a course in Journalism at SAIT College. It truly appeared as a reflection to me upon my last visa rejection. I reinvestigated and introspected my career preferences and finalized to pursue the most appropriate Diploma Program In Broadcasting- Television And Film Production at Fanshawe College. I have also received a Letter of Admission to the program for the September 2022 intake.  

Hence, I present before you today via the medium of this application that is written with the sole purpose to prove my candidacy as a genuine temporary entrant and nullify the below rejection ground: 

  • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit. 

I hope by the end of this application, I would be able to offer a valid justification in support of my candidacy and convince you to allow me a student permit. 

Purpose of visit: 

I am a passionate entertainment enthusiast willing to make a career in the entertainment media. Over time I have also speculated indigenously but I have concluded that pursuing a course in Canada will come in handy as I propel my career forward back home. It is to my career advantage to pursue higher studies abroad. I have finalized to study in Canada due to the many reasons associated with its vast study culture, multicultural assortment, advanced filming techniques, and a lot many factors as detailed below. 

Why Canada? 

Canada has a diverse culture and abundant resources with breathtaking landscapes which makes it a perfect destination for learning film production. The country has a history of producing young talent in the film industry for ages. Canada has a broad range of study offerings to stimulate the learning process. It is a nation that values its international student base like none other. Its exclusive inclusivity in diversity policy makes it stand out among the crowd. Moreover, it is one of the most peaceful nations in the global peace index which gives me valid reasoning to prefer Canada over any other study destination. 

Why not India: After thoroughly comparing the benefits of studying in Canada with a chance to study in India, I found that Canada has unique supremacy over the Indian education system. My country of residence equips an educational structure that is more theoretically enriching while in Canada, I will get a chance to hone my practical skills. No Indian film school offers admission without a bachelor’s degree which would delay my core study plans. It is pointless for me to undergo a simple bachelor’s program when I could directly get admission to a professional filmmaking school. Furthermore, Canada seems to be the most affordable study choice which will also garner me international exposure that is certainly limited to my country of residence. With this, I will reserve a better carry opportunity back home as internationally qualified professionals are welcomed in the Indian entertainment industry due to their highly technical skills in film production.  

Why Broadcasting- Television and film production at Fanshawe College? 

Owing to my fascination with entertainment and media, I became highly driven to achieve career success in this domain. Hence, I began researching various courses in filmmaking in Canada when I finally came across the availability of a Diploma program in Broadcasting- Television and film production at Fanshawe College. After already having researched and compared many different courses, I could sense this one perfectly matching my study objectives. The course at Fanshawe College includes subjects such as TV Production & Applied Theory, Editing & Graphics for TV & Film, Production Management & Writing for Media, Commercial/Corporate Video Production, and Film Criticism which interests me the most. This program will not only polish my filmmaking skills but will also hone my skills in directing and editing.  

Furthermore, studying at a culturally advanced Fanshawe College will put me in a multitude of the diverse student population that will help me enhance my personality. The cross-cultural dialogue exchange will broaden my perspective of viewing film production as an integral part of entertainment media. Due to Fanshawe College’s highly acclaimed image among international colleges, I am determined to pursue higher studies here than anywhere else. 

Reasons to return to India:

Family Ties 

I belong to a traditional family in India that besides me comprises my parents, grandparents, and brother. My father is a <add designation> at<add workplace>, my mother is a<add designation/title>, and my brother is a supervisor in a reputed hotel. My grandparents are dependent on us. My family has acted as the strongest pillar of support for me. They have shown immense appreciation for my dream of attaining higher education in Canada. Throughout my life, they have supported me through thick and thin. As I grow in my career, it will be my responsibility to pay back my gratitude to them. I am also required to look after my parents and grandparents who are getting older with time. Also, my family possesses movable assets worth CAD<add figure>. And immovable asset worth CAD317,020.08 (land worth CAD 158979.60, residential building worth CAD 158040.48). I will also need to look after the voluminous property that my parents behold. Hence, I have a solid reason to return to my country. Since I do not possess any family ties in Canada, I will seek an early return within the stipulated time.  

Future Goals 

As a part of my short-term goals, I will devote myself to my chosen study program. It will strengthen my hold on fundamental skills and allow me space to prepare myself for facing the upcoming industry trends. While continuing to add to my academic and professional self, I will keep my focus intact toward the long-term career goal that I have envisioned for myself. I aim to produce various independent films to outgrow in my career. I will also utilize my skills in directing films sometime in the industry.  

Conclusion 

Declaration of funds: Belonging to a financially stable family, my father has willingly expressed to sponsor my education. However, not to burden him entirely, I have also taken a loan of CAD 23492 from <add financial institution’s detail). I have also submitted a tuition fee of CAD<add figure> and deposited a cum of CAD <add figure> into the GIC account. My family is financially strong enough to support me in case of additional expenses that I might incur during my stay in Canada. 

Language proficiency: To fulfill the language proficiency criteria, I have passed the IELTS examination with an overall band score of 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (Reading: 6.5, Writing: 6.5, Speaking: 7.0, Listening: 6.0). This gives me an edge in continuing my studies at Fanshawe College. 

Oath: I pledge to stay within the norms of the country throughout my stay in Canada. I have also familiarized myself with the Canadian Immigration Laws that I am determined to follow. I will make the best use of the opportunity given to study in Canada and I will not distract from my goal of achieving higher education. I hope my genuine interest in achieving my study-specific goals would convince you to allow me a student permit. Thanking you in advance.
