I, Ananya Rao extend my sincere thanks to you for allowing me to state my reasons to visit Canada and prove myself the most genuine temporary entrant to Canada. I have great potential to do well in public administration. While also comparing my entire academic and professional exposure, I am certain that I want to make a full-fledged career in this profile. As a result, I have thoughtfully chosen to study Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Humber College in Canada. I take pride in sharing that I have also received a Letter of Admission for the <mention intake>. I am, thus, utilizing this opportunity to detail to you my profile and my genuine reasons to return home after the completion of my studies in Canada.  

Academic and professional background     

Education has played a crucial role in shaping my thoughts and personality into an individual possessing a forward approach. As a result, I passed Bachelors in Political Science in 2019 with an overall GPA of 7.07. With my undying interest in politics and international studies, I completed a Master in Politics and International Studies in 2021 with an overall GPA of 8.24. I have consistently increased my scores which also furthered my understanding with the same velocity. I did two main projects during my graduate years that invigorated my interest in pursuing further studies in public administration. One of the projects included a dissertation on Analysis of the Rohingya Crisis and South Asian Politics while the other included Ideational Alternative to Washington Consensus. I also interned at Greenspot from June to September 2020, Youth Online learning Organization (YOLO) from Oct 2020 to Dec 2020, and SWACHHALAY from August 2020 to November 2020. I am currently volunteering at Greenpeace India. Throughout my academic trajectory, I have developed impeccable skills in Communication, problem-solving, data analysis, and critical thinking that makes me a perfect fit to aspire for further studies in my chosen domain. 

Why Canada?    

As I am keen to broaden my international exposure and enhance my technical abilities in governing corporate decisions and policies, I am ardent to discover my knowledge potential in a foreign culture. Through this, I will imbibe exclusive international exposure that will guide my principles of working in my chosen domain. While comparing Canada with various other English-speaking countries, I have measured it to be the best as per my financial budget and practical richness of curriculum. I am also impressed by the open learning environment that encompasses a large population of the multifaceted student population. I will garner eminent cross-cultural experience as a part of my studies in Canada. The immensely peaceful atmosphere of Canada draws me to experience the safest study atmosphere as well as the quality of life that Canada promises. I am thrilled to know that I will also enjoy rights equal to Candian citizens. All in all, I am excited to be a part of such an education system that puts students at the top of the education pyramid.  

Why not India: The curriculum that I found at Humber College has no match with any other college. Especially studies in India are quite theoretical while Canada offers a practical learning approach. I am impressed by its way of delivering classroom lessons. The class sizes remain small while the same is hard to come by in India. Also, I became intrigued by the possibility of gaining international exposure which is limited to my country of residence. The cost of education studying at top-notch institutes is as equal as studying in Canada while international exposure remains missing. Considering all this as well the fact that my foreign education will reduce competition for me makes me fall for Canada over and again.  

Why Public Administration at Humber College?    

The program offered at Humber College caught my eye because it offers a broad range of courses as well as an opportunity to begin my career path right after I graduate. A glance at the brochure gave me an idea of the curriculum’s importance. My further exploration of the program benefits resulted in the discovery of the benefits of on-campus field placement opportunities, which enhanced my interest a great deal. After diving deeper into this curriculum, I learned about the extensive subjects I would be studying. These topics include Human Resources and the Learning Organization, Information Technology in Public Administration, Project Management, International Trends in Public Administration, and Managing Partnerships and Relationships, among others. I am greatly intrigued by Policy Analysis and Project Management. To be well-rounded in the field of Public Administration, I must have a comprehensive understanding of public policy analysis. This class certainly provides me with ample opportunity to learn new things. In addition, I will gain an understanding of what decision-making processes are used in public and private corporations.    

Aside from this, studying in a diverse population will enhance my overall personality. On the other hand, one-on-one faculty interaction will prove to be beneficial to my performance both on and off-campus. The infrastructural facilities at Humber College and the unbiased learning environment will help me grow into a skilled professional. My eminent communication, international, and marketing abilities will enable me to dominate the professional market upon graduating from Humber College. According to my research, Humber College appears to be a wise choice for me to begin my professional studies and set the foundation for a future career.   

Reasons to return to India  

Family Ties    

I am the eldest daughter of my parents. All of us form a tiny nest of the family that lives in close association with each other. My father is a <add designation> and my mother is <add designation/title>. My siblings <add information> are <add what they are doing>. As I have always been close to every member of the family, I also share very strong ties with each of them, especially my mother. I have often played her role while taking care of my younger siblings. It has instilled a sense of responsibility for them in me. I also feel highly accountable for my aging parents. They have inculcated a dream to step into the business of exporting Exotic Vegetable Farming after retirement. They certainly require my support in this as they cannot handle everything alone and depend on me for a lot of decisions. Moreover, the assets in my family will be handed over to me being the eldest child and the most responsible one to justify each of my siblings’ share in it. To accomplish all of my responsibilities towards my family and its valuable assets, I certainly need to return home. Also, as I do not possess any family ties in Canada, it is in every manner reasonable for me to return to India. 

Future Goals    

My short-term goal is focused on returning to India. I will seek to acquire the role of Public Policy Expert in Bangalore which is also known as the Silicon Valley of India. The city is home to many multinational corporates and numerous enterprise units. I will leverage my skills in brand maintenance and quality assurance and combine my knowledge of Geo-political skills to strengthen my position among the elite corporates. I aspire to work with top-notch companies like Amazon India, Intel, IBM, American Red Cross playing a crucial role in the Policy regulatory department. With my intricate conceptual and practical learnedness, I can easily fit in the roles of Government and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Strategic Advisor, Review & Capacity Officer, Government Affairs, and Public Policy Manager. However, in the long term, I wish to become a Public Policy Specialist and Strategic Researcher. This will be guarded by venturing into an ambition to become a Public Policy Specialist and Strategic Researcher. Following the completion of the course, my prime focus shall be on commencing a venture in Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in India and eventually progressing to the IT or Public sector. This will bestow my professional journey by working closely with the High Commissions in India. 

Financial establishment and ability to fund education  

We are a well-established family possessing voluminous property worth CAD 1,16,130. We carry gold worth CAD 19078.50. My mother and father both possess fixed deposits of CAD 7947.87 and CAD 3,318 respectively. My father’s LIC fund equals CAD 5359.20 and my mother’s LIC fund equals CAD 1710.10. Adding to this, my father withdraws monthly remuneration of CAD 765.79. Although my family is financially able to support my education, I have also taken an education loan of CAD 33180 from HDFC Credila to self-fund my education. In light of this, I have paid a tuition fee of CAD 18,038 and deposited CDA 10,000 into the GIC account. I am thus, confident that I will have the most comfortable study experience in Canada. Also, my family has assured me to extend support in case of additional financial expenses that I might incur during my stay in Canada. 

Language proficiency  

To prove my language abilities, I have also taken the IELTS test and scored an overall band of 7.0 having no band less than 6.0 (Listening- 7.0, Reading- 6.5, Writing- 6.0, Speaking- 7.5)., With this, I am convinced that I will have an ease of communication throughout my stay, especially with English being the second most spoken language in Canada. Conclusion   

I am determined to pursue the said program in Canada and appear as the most preferred candidate among Indian employers. As a result of my devotion to my chosen study program, I have also familiarized myself with Canadian Immigration Laws. I pledge that I will abide by the same and not deter from my motive of obtaining higher education. In all the circumstances, I will strive to meet the country’s standards laid down for immigrant students. By no means, I will exceed my stay beyond the authorization period. Considering my genuine status as a temporary student, I request you to allow me a student permit. I shall be highly obliged.
