Respected Sir/ Madam,

I am Maya Choudhury, a resident of India, bearing passport number <add number>. I am passionate about making a career as a renowned business accounting professional. Hence, I have thoughtfully chosen to pursue a Diploma in Business Accounting at Sheridan College. As I have also received a Letter of Admission from the college for September Intake, I am determined to present before you my detailed profile to support your decision in favor of my candidacy as a genuine temporary entrant to Canada.

Academic and professional background

Since my school days, I showed great affinity toward financial numbers. Eventually, developed a wholesome understanding of embracing career opportunities in accounting. Hence, having a clear intent, I performed well throughout my academics. I passed my secondary education with an overall percentage of <add figure>% in <add passing year>. Following my passion for business and accounting, I pursued my senior secondary school with a specialization in Commerce. Owing to my great interest in the subject of accounting, I displayed exceptional performance. As a result, I passed my senior secondary school with an overall percentage of <add figure>% in <add year>. By the time I passed my senior school, the world was going through a tough phase. Everything was shut down due to the covid-19 pandemic. To keep myself academically updated, I kept myself engaged with various online seminars, study modules, and quizzes. However, to also soothe me intrinsically, I volunteered in many relief camps. Also, this voluntary experience has helped me secure a position as a Customer Service Associate at FIS Global Business Solutions Private Limited. I am working here since April 20212. However, it is for the short run before I embark on my further studies. Eventually, as things have begun to settle now, I have bounced back to fulfilling my study goals. To augment my career growth in the future, I aim to study in Canada due to its global reputation as a leading education provider. Hence, I have opted to study Business Accounting at Sheridan College.

Why Business Accounting at Sheridan College?

As I was researching the most suitable college for my further studies, I gave high value to the curriculum. As I am going for undergraduate studies, I need to gain a critical understanding of the subject to exhibit confidence and my stronghold. As I compared different course offerings available at various Canadian Colleges, I found the one available at Sheridan College to be fulfilling my educational goals. I found the inclusion of topics in Business Communications, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Taxation Software Applications, Corporate Finance, Accounting Law, Cost, and Managerial Accounting, and Accounting Information System interesting and well aligned with my career goals. The understanding of these subjects will enhance my caliber to perform in real-life business situations. Having related subjects in business and communication will also enrich me in dealing with the extrinsic and intrinsic business environment. Furthermore, my research into the college’s study environment allowed me to finalize it as my study place. I have found that Sheridan College has employed a vast infrastructure to support practical training. Its student base is multicultural and well behaved while the faculty members are the most sought-after leading industry personalities. Its uniqueness in offering an opportunity to directly interact with its eminent faculty allows students to nurture themselves under closed mentorship. The open dialogue sessions and practical simulations, industry visits, and guest lectures are a few major attractions that bind me to my decision to pursue higher studies at Sheridan College.

Why Canada?

Canada has an open learning culture that makes it a global education leader. A major chunk of international students seeks to study in Canada every year due to its worldwide acclaimed certifications. Hence, I am keen to grow myself under its exemplary teachings and widely acclaimed study system. As I am looking forward to embracing Business Accounting studies, I believe it is vital for me to develop in such a culture where education remains at the top. Its abundant resources and quality of life make college life even worth experiencing. Moreover, Canada appeared as the most affordable study choice for me as I compared it with other English-speaking countries like the USA, UK, or Australia. After knowing about its almost equivalent fee structure to the top-rated colleges in my country, I am placing a higher value on receiving an education in Canada than in India.

Why Not India: I can find many similar courses in my country, but the quality of education will not be at par with the Canadian colleges. The Indian education system is based on conceptual learning, while Canadian education equips practical teaching methods. Practical training will allow me to thrive in the ever-competitive business environment that prevails in India. Also, I am willing to gain international exposure through my study experience in Canada, which is certainly not available in my country of residence. By doing so, I will enhance my professional rating in India and gain a competitive edge over others. Hence, I believe studying in Canada is to my career advantage.

Reasons to return to India:

Family Ties

I belong to a traditional Indian family that comprises my father, mother, and two brothers. My father has a private job and my mother is an educator and a housewife. One of my brothers is a software engineer, working in India while the other one lives in Canada for (add purpose). Throughout my life, I have shared a vast portion of my time with my family, with whom I also share very close ties. They have generously supported my dream to study abroad and are willing to support me in every possible manner. As a result, I am also determined to take care of my parents and fulfill my responsibilities toward them. I am also responsible to manage the voluminous tangible and intangible assets that my parents have reserved so far. Hence, for the love of my family and to fulfill my responsibilities, I seek to return to my homeland within the authorized stay period.

Future Plans

My short-term goal is focused to meet the education requirements at Sheridan College and secure higher grades throughout my academic learning. As a result of this, I aim to build a positive image of my profile to further reserve better internship opportunities. It will garner me the much-required international exposure in the actual work setting that would prepare me to represent myself as a well-rounded professional upon returning home. In the longer run, I aim to establish myself in supervisory roles in multinational corporates operating in India. These include Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, Paul & Martin Consulting Group, KPMG, etc. Also, my international exposure and academic qualification will allow me to seek business opportunities with global stakeholders in the future.

Financial ability to fund the education

I come from a financially strong family. As a result, my family possesses substantial funds to support my education in Canada. Owing to this, my father has agreed to sponsor my education in Canada. I have also paid a tuition fee of CAD <add figure> and deposited CAD <add figure> into the GIC account. I am convinced that I can also seek financial assistance from my family in case of additional expenses that I might incur throughout my stay in Canada. Please find enclosed a proof of payment.

My IELTS scores reflect that I will have flawless communication and interaction opportunities in Canada. The test results indicate an overall band score of 7.0 (Listening: 7.0, Speaking: 7.0, Writing: 6.0, Reading: 7.5). My IELTS scorecard is enclosed herewith.

Conclusion

I am a law-abiding citizen determined to follow Canadian Immigration Rules throughout my stay in Canada. I pledge to obey the country’s law to maintain the decorum of the country. I, in no circumstances, will act contrary to the college’s rules too. Wherever I may reside in the country, I shall pose no harm to its abundantly rich resources. I wish to visit Canada for study purposes only.

I hope my genuineness as a temporary entrant will convince you to grant me a visa permit. Thanking you in advance.

Yours Sincerely,

Maya Choudhury
