Dear Sir/Madam,

My mother, Mrs Kavita Rao, is a loving homemaker who creates a nurturing environment for all of us. I have been fortunate to have an elder brother, Mr Vikram Rao, a talented __________ in the United States who is happily married to Mrs Anju, a skilled ________ practising in a ________. My sister, Mrs Aisha Rao, also pursued a career in _________ and currently resides in ________. Growing up in a joint family with strong Indian cultural values, I have imbibed virtues such as honesty, discipline, commitment, patience, excellence, and authenticity. Since my brother is outside, it will be my sole responsibility to look after my parents in his absence and give them the best care. Hence, I wish to return home and relaunch my career in India.
Academic and professional record
Throughout my educational journey, my family has supported me, encouraging me to dream big and explore various career paths. When I shared my decision to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health in New Zealand, they wholeheartedly embraced it and provided unwavering support and guidance. Their encouragement has been instrumental in accelerating my plans and working towards achieving my goals.
My academic journey began with the successful completion of my Matriculation (10th standard) and Senior Secondary education (12th standard) from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). As I explored different fields of study, I discovered my passion for nursing, attracted by its demand, evolution, and rewarding nature. Intrigued by the social perspective of community health and the opportunity to assist and connect with people, I enrolled in the Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery program at ABC Institute of Nursing & Para Medical Sciences. I qualified the ABC Institute exam conducted by State Seat Medical Facility. This comprehensive program, including an integrated internship, provided me with valuable skills and knowledge. Upon completing the study program and passing the examination conducted by the State Medical Faculty, I became a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife under the provisions of the State Nursing Council Board.
Subsequently, I pursued a Post-Basic Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing program at XYZ University, which I completed in 2018. These educational milestones not only equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills but also solidified my passion for the nursing profession.
Building on my academic foundation, I gained practical experience working as a Staff Nurse in various hospitals. I volunteered at _________ Hospital from December 2018 to November 2019, dedicated my skills as a Staff Nurse at ________ Hospital from January 2020 to December 2020, and actively provided healthcare services at __________ Hospital from May 2021 to October 2021. I have been participating in community services related to Public Health like ________. These experiences and participation in the __________ Program and health education initiatives have reinforced my dedication to delivering compassionate care and promoting preventive measures for the well-being of individuals and communities.
Why New Zealand?
In my quest for further education, I dedicated quality time since 2021 till date and carefully evaluated various options and found New Zealand an ideal destination. The country’s commitment to high educational standards, authentic information, and strategic planning impressed me. New Zealand boasts renowned institutions that offer diverse vocational and professional study opportunities. The multicultural appeal, open and inclusive culture, and favourable education policies convinced me New Zealand would provide the international exposure and quality education I seek.
Despite the presence of excellent institutions in India, the available courses and their curriculum need to align with my aspirations. Moreover, studying in India would not provide the international exposure I need at this career stage to elevate my existing profile. Therefore, I have explored alternative options in English-speaking countries like the USA, UK, Australia, and Canada. Among them, New Zealand is the most suitable for me, considering both the financial implications of studying abroad and the opportunity to interact with a diverse student community. Consequently, my interest lies in pursuing my studies in New Zealand rather than in my home country or any other nation.
Why Public Health from Auckland University of Technology?
Among the educational institutions in New Zealand, I have chosen to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from Auckland University of Technology (AUT). AUT is a humble public university with a prestigious five-star rating from QS. The university’s commitment to inclusivity, vibrant culture, and diverse international student community attracted me. AUT excels in cutting-edge research and innovation, offering many facilities under one roof. There are various reasons why I am interested in pursuing a course in the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from AUT New Zealand. The chosen study program in Public Health at AUT New Zealand offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of public health, including epidemiology, health promotion, policy development, and research methods. This interdisciplinary approach will give me a holistic understanding of public health and equip me with a distinguished set of skills crucial in this field.
Career Plans
Upon completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health, my career plans involve pursuing a Master’s in Public Health. I am glad to inform that I have also received an offer letter in advance for pursuing this course in New Zealand and I am excited to begin this in July 2024 as it is an expanded version of my existing course. Eventually, I wish to work as an __________r at esteemed Indian universities. I aspire to contribute to shaping the minds of future public health professionals, engaging in research and teaching endeavours. Additionally, I aim to work as a public health officer in a government department or NGO, actively contributing to public health initiatives and making a tangible difference in the community. I can easily undertake roles such as public relations specialist, epidemiologist, and health educator in my country. As my expertise and experience grow, I plan to pursue a PhD to further contribute to advancing public health research and innovation in the long-term.
I am incredibly thankful to my family and parents for their generous support in sponsoring my education and living costs in Auckland. I have diligently provided all the necessary documents to support my visa application and request your favourable consideration and approval. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to embrace the opportunity to pursue my educational aspirations in New Zealand and contribute to the field of public health.
Your Sincerely,
Aditya Rao
