I am Aarav (Surname), an experienced IT professional who is willing to pursue formal training in data analytics utilizing the opportunity to study at Durham College. I am glad to announce that I have also received a Letter of Acceptance to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics for Business Decisions from Durham College. I, therefore, take this responsibility to share my entire profile with you for supporting you to make a favorable decision in favor of my candidacy as a genuine temporary entrant and allow me a visa grant.  

Academic and professional background  

I have always been a technical mind and a worshiper of logic. Each time we had any discussion, my logical side used to reappear. My school teachers have played a crucial role in making me realize my potential in the non-medical field. As a result, I passed my school in <add year>with an overall percentage of <add figure>%. Having been inspired by my faculty, I chose to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering specializing in Mechanical engineering which I passed in <add year> with a total percentage of 67%. Unfortunately, our college did not get enough companies visiting to hire in the mechanical domain. However, I was determined to get placed right before I step out of the college gate. Therefore, I grabbed whatever opportunity came my way and sat in an interview for non-tech background in renowned IT companies. My hard work and dedication paid off and I was able to secure placement as a Transaction Risk Investigator at Amazon. I was delighted to associate myself with such a big name and accepted the offer letter. My role at Amazon required me to perform non-coding basic tasks. However, over time, I realized the repetitive nature of certain processes and started building software utilizing my fundamental knowledge and taking help from tutorials. It was aimed at simplifying our tasks and meeting objectives quickly. After completing this software, I presented it before the management which bagged me lots of appreciation as the software was not only workable but easily implementable into the system. I was also awarded by TRMS India Site Lead for building it as a solution. Looking at my potential in software building, I have then titled a Tools Development Specialist and engaged in creating software that can help the internal teams do their jobs efficiently. This was the robust beginning of my career in IT. Since then, there had been no looking back. I served in this role from August 2015 to August 2019. My hunger for knowledge made me upskill myself with self-studying in computer science concepts and data engineering. My zest for this work led me to receive an opportunity to work as a Senior Software Engineer at Tech Mahindra where I also worked on projects which involved data engineering. I served in this role from November 2019 to February 2021. By the time I was absorbed by Quovantis Technologies, I developed myself into a core IT professional possessing a sound understanding of data analysis and data engineering which bagged me a position of Sr. Data Scientist. I am working here since February 2021. My entire tenure professional journey has been inspirational learning. Now, after having served in the IT industry for more than six years, I am confident to explore options that can bag my opportunity in the field of data science. As my current role is very well aligned with my preferred study choice, I am aiming to secure a much more rewarding career in this field through acquiring formal training in data analytics. 

Why Data Analytics for Business Decisions from Durham College?  

My undying passion for this domain brought me closer to finalizing Durham College. As I speculated further about its environment and learning opportunities, I have concluded it to be the most ideal college to fulfill my study aspirations. As a part of my curriculum, I will study topics in Data Analysis tools for Analytics, Data Collection and Data Management, Statistical Predictive Modeling for Analytics, Visualizations, Leadership, and Business Communications, Ethical Leadership and Critical Decision Making, Ethical Leadership and Critical Decision Making which interests me the most. Also, the inclusion of the Capstone Project is a unique opportunity to garner practical exposure to business intelligence and big data tools in a real-time working environment. As I already possess a fair understanding of technical tools and working of software and data, the inclusion of topics in management and leadership will evolve my traits to mold my personality as per the global industry requirements. This course offering is a perfect blend to take me to a position where I have dreamt of myself to be. Moreover, by studying in a multicultural environment at Durham College, I will strengthen my personality and become more globally accepting. The college on the other hand offers an opportunity for open dialogue through its eminent student communities which is sufficient to open up my introverted side. The small class size will add to my learning experience as it will involve a low student-to-teacher ratio which I have never experienced before. By studying here, I am sure to secure a top-tier career in the Indian IT industry.   

Why Canada?  

To improve my knowledge of business intelligence through data informatics, I want to upgrade my understanding of analytics, Big Data, and Business Intelligence. Among countries such as the UK, US, and Australia, Canada remains my top choice as the most budget-friendly and cost-effective study destination. With all of the major study hubs, I found Canada to be the most affordable and offer a wide range of learning experiences. Due to an impeccable student support system and high-end educational infrastructure, Canada remains one of the world’s top study destinations. To maintain impartial attitudes towards international students, Canadian educational institutions uphold fair student laws. The same healthcare facilities are available to international students in Canada as they are to Canadian citizens. Canada’s inclusion in the Global Peace Index gives me many reasons why I should prefer it over other English-speaking countries. In addition, the most common language spoken in Canada is English, so I expect a comfortable study experience and stay. I look up to Canada because of its wide student network, as it will expand my exposure to learning. Thus, as a student in Canada, I am sure to develop a more mature personality.  

Why not India: The chosen program proportionately blends programming, data analytics, and business and project management which is not available in any of the compared curriculum offerings in India. By studying in Canada, I can also gain international exposure side by side which is not available in my country of residence. Also, I have weighed the benefits of studying in Canada with that of India and have found it to offer a practical study experience which is highly valued but not available in my country. Moreover, acquiring a foreign education will stand in my support and heighten my candidacy in the eye of Indian recruiters. Needless to mention, foreign education from a nation as advanced as Canada is greatly appreciated in our culture. I am thus interested in pursuing studies in Canada than in India. 

Reasons to return to India  

Family Ties  

I belong to a nuclear family in India that comprises my father and mother who are my strongest ties. My father is self-employed and works in the domain of <add domain> while my mother is a homemaker. We possess substantial movable and immovable properties which my father has inherited from his ancestors and I inherit the per the ritual. Being the only son, I am greatly accountable for securing my parents’ future and accompanying them during their old age. As they have always stood by me, I do not want to leave them alone in their old age. Also, I will take full ownership of our properties and protect them following my father’s footprints. Since I do not have any family ties in Canada, I would return home in the hope to look after my parents and take care of our properties. In light of this, I will not exceed my stay beyond the authorized period.  

Future plans  

My existing professional experience in the domain of software and data combined with my newly acquired academic qualification will allow me to secure high-ended career prospects. In the short run, I aim to work with Fortune 500 companies in India as a Principal Data Scientist, Data Science Manager, or Data Science Lead. India is a growing IT hub that is rapidly adopting technologies in AI, Big DATA, Cloud Computing, Robotics, etc. It opens up avenues for qualified professionals to reserve lucrative career opportunities. We will leverage this situation in India which is in its booming phase. However, in the long term, I aim to establish an independent IT consulting firm that provides IT services across multiple domains utilizing its stronghold on AI and Machine Learning.  

Language Proficiency  

To fulfill the language proficiency requirement, I have taken the IELTS examination and have secured an overall score of 8.0 with no band less than 7.0 (Listening: 8.5, Reading: 8.5, Speaking: 7.5, Writing: 7.0). 

Financial Establishment and ability to fund education  

I belong to a financially well-to-do family that possesses sufficient funds and properties to support my education in Canada. However, my parents have also shown great willingness to sponsor my education but id o not want to burden them at this age, being a responsible son. Therefore, I have opted for an education loan facility. Considering our wealth of assets and ability to repay, I have also been granted a loan amount of CAD 33,500 from <add bank’s name>. Therefore, I have already paid a tuition fee of CAD 15,730 and deposited CAD 10,434 into the GIC account. Proof of payment has been enclosed for your kind consideration. My parents will act as a helping hand in case I require any additional expenses during my stay in Canada. I assure you that they are financially stable to offer me any kind of financial support while I aim away. Please find our family’s financial details attached herewith for your kind review. 

Conclusion  

As a law-abiding individual, I hold myself to high standards. Throughout my stay in Canada, I will strive to exhibit the same. By no means will I exceed my time limit or ignore Canadian Immigration Laws. To have been allowed to express my desire to study in Canada fills me with pride and gratitude.
